on week nights. Councilman Norris Adams said Wednesday the request came from Al Lamberti, operator of Six One Lounge at 1300 Maple and Richard Burson, operator of the Yankee Clipper at 312 Maple st. Adams said the men, who operate the only taverns in the city, presented to the town council Monday night a petition favoring extended hours that carried 35 signatures. The councilman said the tavern operators complained that they a are losing business to taverns in Des Moines and other nearby areas in the county, which are not required to stop selling beer until 1 a. m.
