C. S. of the Methodist Church entertained a large group of guests at a one o'clock luncheon Thursday, May There were nearly one hundred present. The tables and dining room were beautifully decorated in spring colors, the centerpieces consisting of tulips. A short 'program followed the welcome which was given by the president, Mrs.

Jerry Joseph Miss Lorena Von Ahsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Von Ahsen became the bride of Jerry Joseph, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.

H. Joseph of Columbus, Saturday, April 30 at p. m. at Immanuel Lutheran church in York township. Rev.

R. Muhl performed the double ring ceremony. It was a candlelight service. Wayne Von Ahsen sang, "The Lord's Prayer," "The Wedding Song" and "The Lord's My Shepherd," accompanied by L. W.

Fischer at the organ. W. E. Joseph brother of the groom, played the processional and recessional wedding music. The church was decorated with ferns, gladioli and candelabra.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white slipper satin gown fashioned with a beaded yoke, full sleeves which came to points at the wrist, buttons down the back and a full skirt which extended into senior train. Her fingertip veil was caught to a tiara of orange blossoms. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of White lilies centered with a white orchid. She walked to the altar on a white carpet.

Mrs. Nolan Oakes of Chicago, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a peach satin gown fashioned with a neckline, puff sleeves and a full skirt. She wore a headband of yellow daisies and carried a large colonial bouquet of mixed flowers. Elvira Newkirk, friend of the couple, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lorene Joseph, sister of the groom, Vivian Trifbwasser, friend of the couple and Vivian Vician, friend of the couple. They wore gowns identical to that of the matron of honor and wore matching headbands. They carried colonial bouquets of mixed flowers. Mrs. Eldon Von Ahsen and Mrs.

Mervia Von Ahsen lighted the candles. They wore peach satin gowns fashioned like that of the matron of honor and wore corsages of The bride's attendants wore rhinestone necklaces. Edwin Joseph, brother of the groom was best man. The groom's other attendants were Nolan Oakes, Fred Staub and Herbert Joseph. Ushers were Eldon Von Ahsen and Mervin Von Ahsen.

The groom and his attendants wore black tuxedos with white carnation boutonnieres. Ringbearers ware Jimmy Joseph and Garth Kelting. They each carried a white lily. The bride's mother wore a black dress and the groom's mother wore an aqua dress, They wore orchid corsages. Following the ceremony a supper was served to approximately two hundred guests at the school basement.

After the supper a reception was held at the home of the bride. The bride was recently employed as stenographer at the Gates Rubber at Chicago. The groom is employed by the Behler Mfg. Co. of Columbus, Neb.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph will make their home at Lincoln, 111. Out of town guests were Mr. Mrs, Fred Kolterman and Mrj and Mrs, Albert Prochnow of Seward, Miss Evelyn Sagehorn of S'cribner, Arnold Joseph of Polk, Mr and Mrs.

Four sororities and four fraternities Were chosen to participate in the contest. The Alpha Delta Pi sorority of which Mary Rita Walsh is a member, was the winner of the Trophy. Margie Gaff ey And Richard Coates Are Wed Tuesday, May 3 In an impressive ceremony Tuesday, May 3 at St. Michael's church, Holbrook, Miss Margie Gaffey daughter of Mr. and Mrs Joseph Gaffey Sr. of Holbrook became the bride of Richard Coates son of Mrs. Lois Coates of Littleton, Colo.

Rev. John Manning officiated at the double ring ceremony a 8:30 a.m. in the presence of large number of relatives, and friends. Baskets of spring flower decorated the altar. Jerry and Johnny Gaffey and Mervin Donohoe were acolytes.

Miss Marguerite Spratt the organ and Florence, Helen Joe and Gerry Black sang, "On This Day Beautiful Mother, S'anctissima" and "Heart Jesus Hear." brides's gown of whit slipper satin was fashioned with a fitted bodice, long pointed slee ves and a full skirt extendin; into a senior train. Her finger tip veil fell from a Juliet cap seed pearls. She carried a bou quet of red roses and white car nations and a pearl rosary, a gif of the groom. Miss Madeline Gaffey, the bri de's sister) was maid of honor She wore a gown of peach taffet styled with a full skirt, fitted bo dice, a marquisette yoke short puffed sleeves, with match ing gauntlets. Mary Ellen Donohoe and Ann- Donohoe, cousins of the bride were bridesmaids.

They wore taf feta gowns of yellow and aqu. respectively, which were fashion ed identical to that of the maid of honor. The bride's attendant all wore bandeaus of white he and sattin ribbon and carried co lonlal bouquets of mixed flowers Mary Katherine Gaffey, a niece of the bride, was flower girl anc wore a yellow organdy gown anc carried a bouquet of mixed flow ers. The rlngbearer was Micky Do nohoe, cousin of the bride. Paul Bugas, friend of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Gerald Donohoe, cousin of the and Gene Ross, brother- in-law of the bride, Ushers were the bride's brothers, Jo'e and Bob Gaffey. The groom and his attendants wore gray suits with white carnation boutonnieres The bride's mother wore a teal blue crepe dress with navy accessories, The groom's mother wore a rose crepe dress with black accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of white carnations Following the ceremony, a breakfast was served at the Donohoe home for the bridai party by. Mrs. T.

M. Donohoe, assisted by Mrs. Gerald Malloy and Mrs. James Kinney, A reception was held at the home of the bride. A three-tiered weddmg cake topped with a miniature bride and groom centered the bridal table.

About sixty guests were present. Hostesses were Carmelite Gaffey, Marilyn Donohoe, Jeanne Gaffey end Helen Black, Mr. and Mrs, Coates left on an undisclosed wedding trip. For traveling, Mrs. Coates chose a red suit with white accessories The bride is a graduate 'of Parnell high school ami since her graduation has been engaged in secretarial work.

Mr. Coates was graduated from Denver high schoal, spent two years in the service of the U. Navy and at present is attending Regis College in Denver. The couple will be at home alter June 1st at 785 Qorona Colorado. Mr.

and Mrs. C. W. Hannon of Daven- jort formerly of Parnell, and Louis Murphy, son of Mrs. Louis Murphy of Los Angeles, were spoken 9 a.m.

Wednesday St Anthony's Catholic church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Hannon, uncle of the bride, of- Iciating and celebrating the nup- mass. The altar was decorated with white snapdragons and stock.

Bill iannon, brother of the bride, and James Barnett, were acolytes. Miss Marilyn Murphy presided at the organ and the vocalist was Miss Mary Lou Fielder. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a white brocaded satin gown fashioned with a deep bertha collar of illusion, fitted bodice, long sleeves and a full skirt which extended into a train. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls and her fingertip veil of net was held by a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a white Orchid with sweetpea streamers on a white mother-of-pearl prayer book, the gift of the groom.

Mrs. Andrew Lumbrazo of Chicago served her sister as matron of honor and Miss Rosemary Power was Mrs. Lumbrazo wore a mist blue dotted Swiss dress styled with a Peter Pan collar, cap sleeves, fitted bodice and full skirt. She wore a matching picture hat. Both carried colonial bouquets of sweet peas and baby breath centered with pink James A.

Murphy of St. Louis, brother of the groom was best man and ushers were Richard O'Toole of Omaha, Nsb Andrew Lumbrazo of Chicago and Ken Gavin of St. Louis. A wedding dinner was served at the Chamber of Commerce to members of the bridal party and immediate 1 families. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for one hundred fifty guests.

Mrs. Murphy chose a yellow gabardine suit with navy blue accessories for her going away costume. They left on a two week wedding trip to the west coast. They will make their home in Los Angeles. The bride was graduated from the Immaculate Conception academy and until recently was employed at St.

Ambrose college. Mr, Murphy is a graduate of the University City, high school and attended the University of Missouri. During the war he served two years with the army air corps and is now employed in the office of the National Guard, Los Angeles. Millersburg Legion Aux. To Be Presented Silk The Millersburg Legion Aux iliary will meet Monday evening May 10 with Doris Bohn, Assisting will be Hazel Rinehart, Helen Rinehart and Margaret Pope, with the lunch and social hour after the regular business meeting conducted by the Cleo Montross.

The auxiliary will.be presented a silk flag by Mattie Holdrenes a gold star mother.
