1 Larry Jon Coon, 58, of Frederick, Colorado died peacefully in his home on April 12, 2008. He was born August 29, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa as the youngest child and only son to Kenneth V. and Stella O. (Olson) Coon. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in June, 1967.

In January, 1972 he was awarded a Bachelor of Sci-. ence degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa, where he was also a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. In 1969 he met his first wife, Catherine McCallum, and they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Jennifer Lyn, on June 23, 1970. Larry met his second wife, Nancy Howard, in 1977 and they married in July, 1979. He met his third wife, Rhonda Varnum, in 1990 and they married in March, 1994.

Larry served as a Reserve Officer in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Captain before being discharged in January, 1980. He enjoyed a successful 27-year career as a Sales Engineer with 3E in Des Moines. Since retiring in the summer of 2001 he had pursued his favorite hobbies of golf, snow skiing, sailing, shooting skeet, and traveling the country first from his residence in Reno, Nevada, and most recently from Colorado. Larry was preceded in death by his second wife, Nancy Howard, and is survived by his first wife, Catherine McCallum and their daughter, Jennifer Lyn Coon, 37, both of California, by his third wife Rhonda Varnum of Van Meter, and by his sisters Sandra Sipiora of El Paso and Linda Dailey of Seattle, along with many good friends and extended family. He was beloved by many and will be missed.

A life celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home in West Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to his memorial fund at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.NAMI. MARY MCNANEY Berwick Mary Sr McNaney, 82, passed on, Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Taylor House Hos pice. Services are set for Tuesday, May 27, 11 a.m.

at the Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon, Des Moines, with burial following the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Mary is survived by sons; Michael, Patrick, a daughter Debra, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and those who knew her as Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor House Hospice of Central Iowa in honor of Mary. mi Marjorie Ruth Verba passed away on May 20, 2 0 0 8 at Kavanagh House, West i Des Moines, IA at the age of 92. She had been a resident of Bickford Cottage since 1999 and before that at Beaverdale Estates.

She was the daughter of Ruth Fisher Pratt and Walter Pratt, born on November 23, 1915, in Omaha, NE. She married Willard W. Verba on September 3, 1938. Willard passed away on December 23, 1992. The couple lived in Cedar Rapids from 1948-1982, where they owned and operated Varner Printing Co for many years.

Marjorie worked as the secretary and bookkeeper for the business. They were both active in the Optimist International Organization while in Cedar Rapids. In 1982 they retired to Cherokee Village, AR, where they enjoyed a wonderful life filled with many great folks and lots of activities, such as golf, bridge, PEO, traveling with friends, and spending time with family. Marjorie was a former member of First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids, and also of the Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy, AR. She was a 23-year member of PEO Chapters in Marion, Cherokee Village, and Des Moines.

She was proud of her membership in DAR. Marjorie is survived by daughter, Sue (Jim) Ahr-ens of Grinnell, son James W. of Des Moines, four granddaughters, Dawn (Mike) Miller of Plymouth, MN, Wendy McDougal of Anacortes, WA, Ame (Brian) Krippner of St. Louis, MO, and Abi (Eric) Ahrens of Overland Park, KS. She also has four loving great-grandchildren, Aaron and McKenna Miller, Lauren and Megan Krippner.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, at Brooks Funeral Care -Tonini Chapel, 2135 SW 9th St. Des Moines, IA. in Spanish. Debra was married to Randy Holdren on June 19, 1976 in Breda, Iowa. She was a homemaker, a bank clerk for Bankers Trust and she worked for Donnelley Marketing. Debra retired in 2006. Debra was a member of St.

Mary's Church in Elkhart, where she was a member of the Rosary Society, and the CollinsMaxwell Booster Club, She enjoyed reading, Word Jumbles and following her children's sporting events. She loved her kids and "waking up in the morning!" Survivors include husband, Randy of Maxwell; two sons: Christopher Holdren serving in the Coast Guard and Michael Holdren of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; a daughter: Becca Holdren of Maxwell; her parents, Edgar and Alita Snyder of Breda, Iowa; five brothers: Joe (Marilyn) Snyder of Lawrence, KS; Ron (Pat) Snyder of Oakland, CA; Jim (Nancy) Snyder of Wichita, KS; Tim (Kathi) Snyder of Breda, IA; Marty (Carol) Snyder of Breda, IA and one sister: Ann (Russ) Polking of Newton, IA. EDWARD PETER FAZIO Des Moines Edward Fazio, 82, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 22, 2008.

Mass of Chris- tian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 30, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. at Tonini Chapel, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday May 29.

Edward was a lifetime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a devoted resident of the southside of Des Moines and a WWII U.S. Army veteran. After returning from the war he attended and graduated from both AIB and Kansas City Watch and Jewelry Repair School. Edward worked as a butcher the majority of his life retiring after many years of employment at Allied Wholesale Meats.

His passion and mission in life was caring for his wife and children. Edward will be greatly missed by his seven loving children Lorraine (Perry) Springer, Linda (Robin) Boatright, Edward M. (Cindy) Fazio, Vikki (Doug) Berard, Jeff (Lisa) Fazio, David (Becky) Fazio and Paul (Cheryl) Fazio, 17 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Edward is also survived by two sisters Sue Marasco and Evelyn Caliguiri. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Jacqueline, his brother Samuel F.

Fazio, and his parents Samuel and Mary Fazio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Brooks Funeral Care Tonini Chapel If Mary M. (Flattery) Sciorrotta, 74 passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa peacefully with her family at her bedside.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at SS John and Paul Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oak-wood Cemetery. Mary was born on March 27, 1934, in Monroe County, Iowa to Edmond and Mildred Flattery. She attended rural grade schools and graduated from The Heights College in Ottumwa. On June 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to Sam Sciorrotta in Georgetown, Iowa.

Together they had three children: Kathryn, Sam, and Congetta. Mary has worked in the Finance Department for the Diocese of Des Moines for the past 27 years as a bookkeeper, where she enjoyed her work and especially her fellow employees. Mary was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona, IA Mary is survived by her husband, Sam of Runnells, Iowa; daughter, Kathryn (Leo) Collins of Farmers Branch, TX, son, Sam (Sue) Sciorrotta of Atlanta, GA and daughter, Congetta Goedken of Coggon, IA; six grandchildren Carmen, Adrian, Vincent, Samantha, Joshua and Jessica. She is also survived by her sisters, Millie (Leo) Durbala and Francine (Phil) Jackman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

DOUGLAS A. FOOTS Gilbert, AZ Formerly of Des Moines Douglas Allen Fouts, 50, was born August 8, 1957, and died at his home April 19, 2008. He had been a resident of Gilbert, Arizona, for the past 20 years. Doug was a 1975 graduate of Lincoln high school, and was previously employed by Qwest telecommunications for 29 years. He enjoyed snow skiing, riding his ATV, and listening to the Rolling Stones.

Doug loved to play baseball, and went to Cocomo, Indiana, with the Ft. Des Moines All-Stars. His team made the quarter finals for the Little League World Series in 1970. He is survived by his parents, Mary and Dick Fouls (Summerfield, FL), brother, Stephen (Edra) Fouls (Norwalk, IA), brother, Robert Kansas, MO), nephew, Michael (Valerie) Fouts (Waukee, IA) nieces, Jill Fouts and Jenny (Scott) Left on (Los Angeles, CA), two great nephews, Dakota and Dayton Fouts Waukee, IA) great aunt, Rachael Kelley (Burlington, IA) and many, many friends. He is greatly missed by his family, and will be remembered for his impish grin, and kind personality.
