EVANS Mitchellville DARLENE MARIE BEAVERS Urbandale MARGARET "MARGO" NYGARD Des Moines Margaret "Margo" Nygard passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Kavanaugh House on 56th Street after a long battle with Leukemia. She was 78. Margo was born in Manning, Iowa to Hugo D. and Leatha (Comstock) Hansen on August 27, 1931.

Visitation will be at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church at 66th and University on Monday, August 16, 2010 from 9 to 11 a.m. with the funeral at 11a.m. Margo graduated from Gray High School in Gray, Iowa with the class of 1949. She moved to Newton, Iowa where she learned the printing trade at the Newton Manufacturing Company. She later worked for the State of Iowa as a printer in the Vital Statistics Department in Des Moines.

She held various printing jobs as well as owned her own business titled Margo's Print Shoppe. Margo was married to Robert Nygard, who she loved dearly, on June 14, 1953. She loved all her family very much, spending as much time with them as possible. In her spare time, she loved to travel, fish, water ski and participate in synchronized swimming with the Citrus Park team in Florida during the win-, ter months. Margo was active in her church and Eastern Star where she received her 50 year pin, which she was very proud of.

She volunteered at the Lutheran Hospital's Not New Shop for about 15 years and loved every minute of it. Margo is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Marlene (Dave) Daubert; two grandchildren, Erin and Nathan Daubert; three siblings, Robert (Ruth) Hansen, Norman (Roni) Hansen and Lilith (Valgene) Kruse; and sister-in-law, Mary Gaunt; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cooper, 83, passed away peacefully August 11, at IJ Wesley Acres If in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Augustl6, at St. Augustin Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery. Trientje was born in Rippy, Germany and came to the United States at the age of seven with her mother and two sisters to be united with their father in Sac CityLytton, Iowa area.

She graduated from the University of Iowa as a registered nurse. In 1951 she was united in marriage to John Cooper. They raised four children in rural Waukee area before moving to Des Moines in 2002. In 1971, she trained to become one of the first female nurse anesthetist in the state of Iowa. She retired from Iowa Lutheran Hospital, operating room.

Trientje lovingly touched many lives and will be missed. Trientje is survived by her son Mark (Patti) Cooper of Des Moines, daughter Terry (Martin) Heder-man of St. Louis, MO, daughter-in-law Donna Cooper of Pleasant Hill and son Bart (Peggy) Cooper of Littleton, CO, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband John, son Robert, parents John and Johanna Everts and her sister, Hilda Zimmerly. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at lies Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel, Des Moines.

Hospice House. She was born August 13, 1940 in Liscomb, IA to Gift and Nina (Weatherly) Bland. Ruthanne enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years, Joe; children, Kym Sells and her husband Todd, Jennifer Trow and her husband Kirk, Michelle Heintz and Melissa Drake; grandchildren, Kali, Sydney, Johnathan, Tristyn and Madison; sisters, Bertha Kaufman, Virginia Gray and Judi Bell; and her brother, Ron Bland. She was preceded in death by her son, Loren Joseph, her parents; brothers, Jerry and Gift "Junior" Bland; and her parents-in-law, Fred and Marie Heintz. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m.

She especially enjoyed writing for her church paper, "The Park Avenue; Visitor," in the early 1970s. She is survived by her two sons, James Presnell and Kerry (Emily) Presnell; six grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Jerri Presnell. ILES Dunn's Chapel 2121 Grand Avenue 54 Barbara J. Evans, 84, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Mitchellville Care Center in Mitcn-ellville, Iowa. She was born July 3, 1926 in Englewood, California to James and Eleanor Brown. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Altoona United Methodist Church. Barbara loved spending time with her family, Softball, being a part of the Altoona Kitchen Band, the ocean, and attending her annual class reunions.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Dean (Patti) Evans and Dennis (Marilyn) Evans; daughter, Heidi (Michael) Lambert; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter, Vicki Wheeler; and son, Vance Evans. Des Moines 1 Harlan Ziel, 87, of Des Moines, passed away August 13, 2010. He was born November 13, 1922 in Dubuque, Iowa and was a 63-year resident of Des Moines. Harlan was a retired warehouseman from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert; mother, Elsie Rei-der; and his former wife, Rita Manhart. Harlan is survived by his sons, Harlan, Jr.

and Duane; daughter-in-law, Louise; grandchildren, Jeff and Greg; and five greatgrandchildren. The family will be holding a private service. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. ILES Westover Chapel 6337 Hickman Road a 1 Marie Beavers, daughter of Cecil and Bessie (McDivitt) Breeden, was born May 17, 1928 in Des Moines, IA. Darlene worked for over 30 years at Colonial Bakery.

She was a lifelong resident of Urbandale and was a strong Christian lady who attended the Open Bible Temple. Darlene moved into the Mount Ayr Health Care Center in Mount Ayr, IA on August 6, 2010 and passed away there on August 12, 2010. Survivors include her four children, Rex Dean Beavers, Jr. and wife Mimi of Rimrock, AZ, Kathie Marie Dalrymple of Grimes, IA, Cynthia Sue Dugan and husband Ed of Mount Ayr, Jodene Lynn Kelley and husband Todd of Oakland, MD; sister, Edna Jacobs and husband Harold of Urbandale, IA; long time companion, Robert King of Phoenix, AZ; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; brothers; sisters; and Rex Dean Beavers, Sr.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 16 at McDivitt Grove Cemetery, 7001 Meredith Urbandale. A celebration of her life will follow services at the American Legion, 68th Douglas, in Urban-dale. Memorials are to the family to be decided later. She was born on June 29, 1928 to Lewis and Alice Randolph in Ankeny. Elizabeth worked hard on the family farm, loved horses and sang in the church choir for 40 years. During her high school years, Elizabeth was a member of a 6 on 6 basketball team where she played as a guard. Elizabeth is survived by her older sister, Dora Amundson of Idaho; a niece, Karen Hawkins; and nephew, Craig Hawkins both of Ankeny; as well as several other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11: a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Ankeny, 206 SW Walnut with burial to follow at Greenwood Friends Cemetery in Ankeny.

As was his wish, his body has been donated to the University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City. A celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, August 21 from 2 to 4 at the Central United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Military Rites will be presented at 4 p.m. Jack was born October 9, 1927, in ML Ayr, IA, to Hugh and Lena (Walter) Foster; he graduated from Mt. Ayr High School with the Class of 1945 and enjoyed going back every five years for the class reunion.

Jack entered the Army February 1946 and was stationed in Weiden, Germany, assigned to the DR. RODNEY A. ROGERS Des Moines Dr. Rodney A. Rogers, longtime professor of Biology at Drake University died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Wesley the Village in Indianola.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 16, at Cottage Grove Ave. Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at the Chariton Cem Constabulary Unit.

He was mustered out of the Army in May 1947. After the military, Jack went to work as a lineman, eventually working for Missouri Edison; and in May 1952, started to work for Iowa Power and Light in Shenandoah. Jack married JoAnn Duben in November 1950, they had two sons, Stephen and Michael, they later divorced. The family moved to Oskaloosa in February 1962, as Jack was transferred with his job. Jack's hobby was building and remodeling; he designed and built an octagon table, this led to an article being published in February 1964 in the Science and Mechanic Magazine.

He designed and built five houses, and remodeled six others. His favorite part was building custom cabinets and woodwork. Jack married Theressa (Cappellin) Moulder in December 1979 in Oskaloosa; they went on a lot of road trips, to almost every state, and enjoyed a lot of football games. Jack retired from Iowa Power and Light in September 1985; this gave him more time to enjoy his hobby until Alzheimer's made it impossible. He also enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren's sports and school activities; and of course his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes.

When not building or remodeling, Jack enjoyed his other hobby of reading. He was a member of IBEW Local 499, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. Left to mourn Jack, is his beloved wife, Theressa; son, Steve (Rosanne) of Traer, LVRome, Italy; their children, Luke (Sarah) Foster and daughter, MaryRose, Jill (Matt) Oliver, and Mark (Sarah) Foster; son, Mike (Ginny) of Oskaloosa, their children, Rebecca (Jay) Bock; Kristen (Chris) Fink; Michelle (Nate) Lahner; Daniel (Amanda) Foster and Timothy Foster; a stepdaughter, Rhonda Moulder, her children, Nikki (Brian) Morris and daughter Shania; Andrea (Isaac) Wyant and children, Elijah and Jewel; Steve Foley and children, Jessie, Elizabeth. Jonah; and AlexLs (Jordan) Gerrish; a stepson, Tony Moulder, his children, Nick Moulder, Chris (NicoUe) Moulder and son Lukas; and Nicolle Mowrey: step-son, Dave (Mari) Moulder their children, Corbin and Emily; step-daughter, Sue Moulder, her daughter, Michaela; lso, three nieces; four nephews; and one cousin; four step-nieces; and six step-nephews; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Wines of Des Moines, Johanna'Ellis Linn of Denver, CO; Margaret Cappellin of Waco, TX. Jack was preceded in death by hLs parents; his brother, Charles Foster, and sister, Dorothy Loudon.

Rodney was born August 24, 1926 in Lucas, Iowa and graduated from Jamaica (Iowa) High School. He began his college education at Drake University, but his studies were postponed due to military service in the Army from 1944-1946. After serving in the army, he returned to Drake University and earned a bachelor's degree in biology in 1949 and master's degree in biology in 1951. He then attended the University of Iowa, where he earned a PhD in biology in 1955. It was at the University of Iowa where he met his wife Dr.

Frances Rogers, also a professor of biology at Drake University. Rodney began his teaching career at Drake in 1955. He taught at Drake until his retirement in 2007, with the exception of the 1967 to 1968 academic year when he worked for the National Science Foundation in Washington, C. In addition to teaching, he served as chairperson of the Biology Department from 1966 to 1992. He has been credited for obtaining the funds to build the Olm Hall of Biological Sciences at Drake, and was the outstanding undergraduate teacher of the year in 1992 to 1993.

In addition to teaching, he was a member of the Prairie Club, and a member of Cottage Grove Ave. Presbyterian Church. Rodney also enjoyed playing the piano as a hobby. Rodney is immediately survived by his two sons, Bob and Bill (Heather), and two granddaughters, Katie and Laura. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances, his brother Charles and his sisters, Barbara and Ruth.
