Among survivors are a son, Alexander Jr. of Indianola; two daughters, Anne Meehan and Amy Oponski, both of Des Moines; his mother, Anna Oponski, and two brothers, Ed and Ted, all of Philadelphia; a sister, Mary Ann Oponski of Florida; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Leah W. Logan, 97, of St. Cloud, died of a heart ailment Saturday at St. Cloud Hospital.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Benedict Center Chapel in St. Cloud, with graveside services at 1 p.m. Friday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mrs. Logan was born in Allegan, and lived in Forest City and later Des Moines, where she retired as cafeteria manager at the former Des Moines Technical High School. She moved to St. Cloud in 1987. Surviving are three sons, Robert of Monticello, Merle of Columbia, and Verne of Silver Springs, N.Y.; two sisters, Avis Glenn of Placerville, and Vera Francisco of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Vaughn was born in Yale and lived in Gowrie more than 20 years until moving to Perry a year ago. She was a homemaker and member of Yale United Methodist Church. Burial of the cremains will be in IOOF Cemetery Mrs. Felton was born in Lake City and moved to Indianola in 1985 from New Virginia. Delia Marie Hoffer Harper, 94, of Wesley Acres, 3520 Grand died there Monday of complications lollowing a stroke. Mrs. Harper was born in Staples, and lived in Des Moines most of her life while spending winters in Arizona for 20 years. She retired after 30 years as a state employee working for the attorney general, Supreme Court chief justice and state director of the Division of Mental Health. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and past matron of Auburn chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Among survivors are a son, Ted Harper Jr.

of Post Falls, Idaho; a brother, James Hoffer of Green Valley, three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Dunn's Funeral Home. Mosher, 74, of Pleasant-ville died of a heart ailment Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and member of Fairview Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Robert Schade, 72, of Monticello died of a heart attack Monday at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Monticello, and graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m.

Friday at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. Mr. Schade was born in Des Moines, where he lived until 1980. He started Prestige Motors, Des Moines' first Subaru dealership, and later operated an insurance office and financial business in Monticello until retiring in 1991. Surviving are his wife, Georgia; a son, Len of Rock Island, a stepson, Tim Kuhns; two daughters, Deanne Howell of Newton and Tammy Yesces of Sioux City; two stepdaughters, Gale Tedrow of Stockton, and Laurel Kuhns of West Branch; a sister, Ruth Bloomquist of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Gilliam was born in Fort Dodge and lived in Des Moines most of her life, returning in 1963 after 10 years in California. Survivors include a son, Robert of Des Moines; four daughters, Connie Santee of Cedar Falls, JoAnn Hughes of Westchester, and Patricia Sil-verthorn and Christy Loyd, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Richard Horn of Chancier, S.D., and Edward Horn of Palm Springs, 13 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. Lynn "Shorty" Muller, 52, of 820 S.W. 62nd St. died of a heart attack Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m.

Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Rockwell City. Cremation will follow, with private graveside services at a later date. Mr. Muller was born in Laurens and formerly lived in Rockwell City. He worked for Dahl's Food stores until 1990 and was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church.

Among survivors are his wife, Etta; two daughters, Wendy Muller at home and Renee Bronzynski of Rockwell City; his mother, Atha Muller of Rockwell City; a sister, Coleen Rodewald of Somers; and two grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Palmer Funeral Home in Rockwell City. Norman H. Nichols, 67, of Polk City died of a heart attack Tuesday at Polk City Manor Care Center.

The body was donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, and a memorial service will be at a later date. Mr. Nichols lived in the Des Moines area most of his life and retired as a building engineer. He is survived by a son, Hugh of St. Charles, two sisters, Rosalie Shoafstall of Apache Junction, and Coleen Minear of Clive; a brother, John of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Westover Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mary E. Anderson, 81, of Huxley died of cancer Monday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m.

Friday at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Anderson was born in Elkhart and moved to Huxley in 1941. She was a homemaker and member of the Lutheran Church. Among survivors are her husband, LeRoy; a son, David of Huxley; a grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Harold Davis Rissler, 91, of Se-dalia, died Thursday at Sylvia Thompson Residence Center of a respiratory ailment caused by cancer. The body was cremated and graveside services will be at 2 p.m.

Friday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia. Mr. Rissler was born in Hughes-ville, and lived in Des Moines most of his life until moving to Missouri three years ago. lie had been a radio engineer at WHO Radio in Des Moines and was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Hugh-esville Christian Church. Surviving are four nieces and three nephews.

Among survivors are her husband; a son, Michael of Minnetonka, a daughter, Helen Getzkin of Plymouth, and four grandchildren. Norman Wayne Anthony, 67, of 2900 E. 39th Court died of cancer Monday at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines.

Among survivors are his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Deborah Sinnwell of Pleasant Hill and Renee Anthony of Des Moines; a sister, Marjorie Crewse of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Kessler Funeral Home, and private burial of the cre-mains will be at a later date. Mr. Madsen was born in Audubon and also formerly lived in Westphalia. He returned to Audubon from Des Moines, where he worked for the Chicago and North Western and other railroads until retiring in 1985.

He was a veteran of the Army Signal Corps. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Anne Madsen of Denver, two sons, Mark Davis and David Davis, both of Des Moines; and three sisters, Laura Steffensen, Edna Crees and Dena Miller, all of Audubon. Ward LeCocq, 79, of Winterset died Sunday at Winterset Care Center North of complications following a stroke. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Winterset Cemetery. Mr. LeCocq was born in Truro and lived in Madison County all his life. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are a son, Larry of Piano, Texas; two daughters, Shirley Ridley of East Greenwich, R.I., and Sandy Wenck of Winterset; a brother, Claude of Winterset; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the care center's activity fund. Bessie I. Thomas, 84, of Waterloo died Monday at Covenant Medical Center of complications of diabetes. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Friendship Village chapel in Waterloo.

Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Avon Cemetery near Des Moines. Mrs. Thomas was born in Des Moines, where she lived until moving to Waterloo two years ago. She retired as a bookkeeper with Borden Dairy.

Surviving are a son, Alan Orr of Cedar Falls; and three grandchildren.
