Mrs. Burdess was born in Lucas and had lived in the Osceola area most her life before moving to Des Moines in 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of others. She is survived by two sons, Eugene of Dallas, Texas, and Reuben of Des Moines; a daughter, Barbara Huggins of Osceola; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 14 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Bray had lived in Des Moines all her life. She was a homemaker and a retired Braille transcriber with the lowa Commission for the Blind. She also was a secretary with the Des Moines Diocese and had served on the administrative staff for the pope's visit to Des Moines. She was a member of Bishop Drumm Guild and her church's Rosary Society She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Heger and Mary Kennedy, both of Des Moines; three sons, John of Geneva, Thomas of New Lisbon, and Joseph of Adel; two sisters, Maxine Beldt of Longmont, and Maureen Coash of Des Moines; 17 grandchildren; and 24 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom.

He was a Marine veteran of World War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife, Muriel; two daughters, Darlene Brown of Portland, and Sheryl Harvey of Van Meter; three sons, Edward Simmons of West Des Moines, James Shrader of Austin, Texas, and Douglas Simmons of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Lingren was born in Boxholm and had lived in Ogden all her life before moving to Boone. She was a member of United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Ogden Garden Club and Ogden Women's Club. She was known for her flowers, rye bread and chocolate chip cookies. She made crib quilts for her grandchildren and enjoyed embroidering. She is survived by six sons, Paul of Ames, Earl of Pilot Mound, Dale and Laverne, both of Ogden, and Lee and Larry, both of Boone; a daughter, Ilene Van Pelt of Perry; a sister, Norma Schlicht of Rippey; 26 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren; and 11 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Doty was born near Brooklyn and had lived in the area most of his life before moving to Grinnell in 1985. He enjoyed his grandchildren's school activities and farming. He is survived by his wife, A. Mason was born in Alleman and had lived in Des Moines and Roland before moving to Madrid in 1995. He was a retired switchman with Des Moines Union Railroad. Mrs. Schwechel was born in Oskaloosa and had lived in Richland and Glidden before moving to New Sharon. in 1964. She was a retired kindergarten teacher in New Sharon and a former pastor. She most recently had worked with Mobile Missionary Assistance Program and had worked on a 14-mission project throughout the United States and Canada.

She also was involved with Camp Quaker Heights. She enjoyed music, table games, reading and crocheting. She is survived by her husband, Dale; two sons, David of Boone and John of Norwalk; and five grandchildren. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
