He retired as assistant mechanical supervisor for the Des Moines Independent School District, was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and had been a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters union. Surviving are his wife, Esther, four sons, Ronald of Westminster, and David, Richard and Douglas, all of Des Moines; three brothers, James of Denver, John of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gil of Clearwater, four sisters, Jeanette Boot of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Clara Manting of Blue Island, III, Kay Vanderbilt of Naper-ville, 111., and Johanna Brucer of Schererville, and 11 grandchildren. He had farmed and was employed by Deaconess Hospital Farm and Maytag Farms, and was a member of the Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge, Commandery and White Shrine. He was a past patron of Order of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of Mariposa Grange.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; a son, Ray of Urbandale; a daughter, Joan Steele of Salinas, three sisters, Evah Holdren of Seattle, Doris Salzkorn of Sutherland and Helen Brownmiller of Logan; eight grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. JOHN P. KING John P. King, 84, of Norwalk died of emphysema Saturday at Regency Care Center, where he was a resident. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St.

Rumbaugh was born in Pella and returned in 1980 following retirement after a career with the Air Force. Most recently he was a coin and precious metals dealer.
