Most all have a spacious, welcoming entry or foyer. Dining rooms are almost a standard feature with varying degrees of formality. Energy consciousness is evident, too, with very Impressive insulation R-values in sidewalls and ceilings alike.

Several homes feature 2-by-6 sldewall construction. Most homes have double glazing, insulated doors, and are wrapped with space-age vapor barriers. Natural gas is the fuel of choice for the majority of homes, and the furnaces have efficiency ratings well above 95 percent. Some heating plants are engineered for exterior air combustion for fireplace, furnace and water heater. Several homes have passive solar orientation, air-to-air heat exchangers or heat pumps.

One home features a ground-water heating system. All in all, the builders have built for beauty and convenience with an eye for economy, too. Admission to the show is $3.50 for adults; children under 8 free. The show Is open from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
