Louis by is St. 1 DES MOINES SUNDAY REGISTER January 5, 1958 African Trip to Be Club Topic Members of Des Women's Club will "travel" through Africa at their program meeting at 11:15 a. m. Wednesday at Hoyt Sherman Place. Mrs.

Raymond Baker of Johnston, who with her husband traveled 7,000 miles by automobile and plane over the garden route of Africa last year, will tell about their trip. The Bakers were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas of Coon Rapids. Mr.

Baker is head of the breeding research department of Pioneer Hybrid Seed Corn Co. The two couples visited several government experimental stations, saw native ceremonials, took a boat trip across Lake Tanganvika and a launch trip on the Nile River. Mrs. Baker will be presented by the history, philosophy and travel department. Committee members are Mesdames W.

H. Steinbrenner, Cornelius Bos and R. H. Rominger. Seated at the new members' table at luncheon will be Mesdames Kenneth Johnson, Myron Blank and C.

F. Taylor and Miss Norma A. Peters and committee members, Mesdames Warner Crusinberry, D. J. Baskerville, Floyd Burgess and Harold J.

McCoy. At 1:30 p. m. the literature department will present a panel discussion of "Behind the Scenes in Your Public Library." Miss Ethel Be ele coordinator of home reading services, will moderate. Others on the program be Mrs.

Margaret Lucille Hoit, 0-ordinator of services, and Miss Ruth McFadden, head of stations department. Committee members are Mrs. Clyde Lighter and Mrs. Harold Allen. Hospitality committee members for January are Mesdames Arvid Lundgren, chairman, Howard F.

W. Third became the bride Saturday of Nick Bellizzi II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph J. Bellizzi, 3001 S.

W. Fourteenth st. The Rev. John J. Aldera officiated at Christ the King Church.

Bridal attendants were Mrs. Michael Cunningham, Mrs. Jack Carnes and Miss Geraldine Gering. Ralph Compiano was best man. Ushers were Kent Folsom, John Zahn, Joe Gering, and Michael Cunningham.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Bellizzi are graduates of Lincoln High School. They will live in Cedar Falls, where Mr. Bellizzi is a student at Iowa State Teachers College.

CORELL-PARKER Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Corell, 1801 Euclid announce the engagement of their daughter Jodine and C.

Dennis Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. Parker, 6640 Mott ave. Miss Corell, a graduate of Des Moines Technical High School, is employed by Central Life Assurance Co.

Louis Meeting Several officials of Heart of the Hawkeye Council of Camp Fire Girls are attending the National Camp Fire Girls, professional conference in St. Louis today through Saturday. They are Miss M. Genevieve Clayton, executive director; Miss Virginia Lee Cunningham, assistant executive director, and district directors, the Misses Elisabeth Hartwell, Betty Louise Jones, Donna Leek, Dorothy Green and Henrietta Heman and Mrs. Margaret Harrison.

Miss Cunningham is chairman of the region 7 professionals group, who will be hostesses at the conference. Wa Tan Ye Club Wa Tan Ye Club of Des Moines, professional and' business women's service club, will have its first meetting of the new year at 7:30 p. m. Monday in the club rooms of the Polk County Federal Savings and Loan sociation of Des Moines, Seventh and High streets.
