Joyce Albright McCormick, 73, Indianola Joyce McCormick OBITUARY close to the faucet for even a drop of any trickling! Almost all Republicans call for lower taxes.

During the Eisenhower administration, the top tax rate for the rich was 92 percent. During presidency it was 91percent. Even then, the rich became richer. Starting with Rona ld Reagan, the tax rate for he rich dropped to 28 per- ent and is currently at 35 percent. According to the non-partisan tax research group called Tax Foundation, income tax rates are strikingly low relative to the rates of the past century, especially for rich people.

For most of the century, including some boom imes, top-bracket income ax rates were much high- than they are he organization goes to say that, to what Republicans would have you believe, super- high tax rates on rich people do not appear to hurt the economy or make people lazy: During the 1950s and early 1960s, the top bracket income tax rate was over 90 percent and the economy, middle-class and stock market boomed. Super-low tax rates on rich people also appear to be correlated with unsustainable sugar highs in the economy brief, enjoyable booms followed by protracted busts. They also appear to be correlated with very high hen the Republicans after the Democrats which means Hillary) hey talk about private email account. It seems to be overlooked by the Republicans that other secretaries of state before Hillary also used private email accounts. When the state department asked the last four former secretaries of state for their work elated emails, only Hillar Clinton provided hers.

ome of the Republican candidates who criticize Clinton for this have also done the same thing. Jeb Bush owned his own private email server and his staff decided what emails to be made public. Bobby Jindal went even further and used private emails to ommunicate with his staff ut refused to release his ork-related emails. Scott alker also has a history of a secret email system. Yes, the circus has started but right now seeing just the sideshow.

Who knows who will be playing the big top! To quote from the movie, the political spinners are already as busy as dust spreader on the Bob Kling is a regular columnist for the RHT and an Indianola resident. His email address is bob- Kling Continued from Page 1B.
